I have another question.... You paid someone to do this work, and now your car has a new noise... Why isn't the shop doing all this work?

yes they did - I got some major popping/clicking on the track though... I'm thinking it's the endlinks

well, had the shop realign the subframe, redo the alignment, loosen and tighten the bolts on the endlinks, and grease the fsb bushing - the popping noise is still as present as ever.

going to undo the endlinks tonight and go for a drive and see if any noise comes about... any other ideas? I've ruled out most of the common noises..

all right... not the endlinks, drove the car with the fsb uninstalled.. we're stumped.... any ideas from anyone??

shop said when they did the work they didn't unmount the struts from the top - he said he wired them up and out of the way when the front was apart.

could a cv joint have gone bad during the process?

noise is driving me nuts. I'm not sure at this point what to do without starting to replace everything.

from internet research, here's a list of things I'd like to check:

- cv joints
- ball joint
- rear motor mount
- tie rod ends
- lower control arm to subframe bolts
- control arm bolts
- wheel bearings

I'll take a video of the car revving in neutral with the hood up to take a video of the engine movement to see if it's ok, too much, etc. and go from there I guess.

I don't know what it sounds like. The rear trans mount was simply a suggestion for something to be sure to check. Hopefully the mechanic checked it while they had the subframe loose the second time.
