Yea i don't feel safe using spacers at all since i have heard bad things..

thinking of selling the esr sr05 wheels and picking up the xxr 521 18x10 +25 and running 25 spacer up front and a 15 in back. Or a 25 in back too. I just really wanna avoid major fender work and rubbing.

Those are mutually exclusive. Any lower offset than +30-35 or so with that sort of wheel width requires rear fender work, unless you're planning on mounting bicycle tires on the wheels (and even then, with an effective rear offset of +10 like you're suggesting, I suspect the wheel itself would hit the fender under enough compression).

See im being told and reading on people running them with only rolling the fenders, or hammering pinch welds and removing fender liners with some camber. I really just want the style wheel with the 3inch lip. want the look more than i do the headache. But under my understanding the smaller wheels don't have such lip.

I once had a wheel on my car that was 18x10 +25. That would be like you running a 9.5 +18. I rolled the fenders, pulled the crap out of them (slightly creased the body panel) and had a 255 tire (new tires were on the way). Even with the stretch, I was rubbing on every turn. The car wasn't even low. I could have riced out the camber, but I can't say a wider tire would have fit. If you don't mind a lot of camber and stretched tires, it coulda' worked. IMO looked like crap, though.

very discouranging. Too difficult just to pick a nice wheel combo and make it work. Anyone know if i were to get the xxr 521 or xxr 531 wheels what would work with minimal fender work?

There is a Wheel fitment thread somewhere on this site. It's probably stickied. It should answer all your questions. LOTS of wheels tested with all info, including anything needed for fitment.
