I think I have some photos posted somewhere in here of 17x9 PF01SS wheels on my Evo. The PF01 Evo wheel looks nearly the same.

As long as I don't have to run a spacer with studs built in or add extended studs. I'd rather find a wheel that fits than do either of those things.

Subjective. I can't stand them. But, for me, function > form, so I can DEFINITELY deal with it.

as for the rest of the discussion: On the front, I ran a 9.5" wheel with effective +15 and a 255 tire. around 2.8* camber and a Perrin PSRS. Other than obliterating my fender liners, I had no other issues anywhere.

^Agreed Im all about function over form. Just wanted to say that I think they do look better in person vs in pictures.

Just curious why are you so against extended studs?

not necessarily against. I'd just rather have wheels that fit without doing all the work.
plus. they would keep me from daily driving on my stock wheels.

My 17x10 +38 RPF1's with 255/40r17 NT01's wouldn't clear the strut without a spacer.
My 18x9.5 +35 Konig's with 265/35r18 RE11's wouldn't clear the strut without a spacer.

So, by saying you wouldn't run a spacer for "proper" fitment, I guess you need to put narrow wheels and tires on your car.

Yeah, my 255/40 tires 17x9 +32 is pretty darn close to the coilover spring on my front strut. I'd say its <1/2" away, and may be as close as 1/4".

I never thought of inboard. I don't remember any of my wheels coming anywhere near spring. I guess I would have had to find out the hard way.
Ayoustin was saying his fit fine with no spacers or rubbing. That is curious.
If I can't find an offset that doesn't work, then I guess spacers it would have to be.

Yea it's also discussed pretty well in this thread: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/evo-tires-wheels-brakes-suspension-sponsored-tire-rack/608811-enkei-nt03-17x9-5-38-need-spacers.html

Keep in mind tire selection plays an important roll in clearance as well.

I switched to Michelin A/S 3+ for my latest 255/40-17 tires on 17x9" +32 mm rims, and these tires have a huge rim protector. It sticks out a solid 1/2" past the rim. Now the tires just barely clear the rear fenders on big bumps. They must be within 1 mm. I imagine that the rim protector is almost equally close to the coilovers at the front. Goes to show how many factors play a role in tire/wheel clearance.
