Evo IX rear caliper brake pad retainer pins

Is there some trick to getting these off? The pins on the outside of the caliper (facing outside the car) are pointed, so i can't just tap on with a punch to push them out the back like I did the front brakes. Coming from the rear, there is no real good way to tap on the pins with all the suspension and **** in the way...

Did the previous owner put these in backwards? Can they be put in backwards? I've never done rear pads on an Evo 9 before, so not sure if this is supposed to be this way, or if the previous owner was a jack ***.

Yeah, a punch will easily unseat those pins. Just make sure the pins are full seated after you reinstall the pad (tap them back in all the way home, until the sound changes)
