Springs/sway bar setup

Hi Guys ,

could you pls advise me setup springs/sway bars for evo 9?

the idea is to have clear/spicy car
last time i had rsr ti springs and perrin rear sway bar/ whiteline front sway bar. I did not like it. Front compartment was spicy , rear always late to the front(tried to catch up the front) . The car was as caterpillar !

I would recommend the following:
  • Swift Spec R spring = 4M017R
  • If you want a little less spring rate (softer ride) go w/the Swift Sport = 4M008
  • Whiteline 24mm rear sway bar (set the bar at the full hard setting to start to help w/rear rotation) (leave front bar stock)

do you have your own experience with the same config?
Stock front sway bar is necessary here ,correct?
Do the swift springs not so low ?

  • Not exactly. I ran, many years ago, Eibach springs & the Whiteline rear sway bar. Swifts springs are certainly rated as top level springs. Ive been on coilovers for 10 years plus but my c/o'rs have Swifts as well
  • Yes, stock front sway bar is your best bet. The EvO is already very understeer prone & adding more rate to the front bar will likely increase the understeer tendency
  • The drop is noted on the web site (1.4" front & .8" rear)

I ran on the swift sport springs and oem rear for a couple of years in auto cross. It was fine but had a bit of body roll. I haven’t run on oem springs so I’m guessing there is a bit of roll with those as well. It can be understeery. It handled better when I got the white line rear sway bar on the stiffest setting. Then with an ACD tune from tspcomped, even better! I run on stiff fortune auto 510s, my swift springs were way more comfy.
