What type of suspension should you go with?

Hey,

I've been looking around and i don’t see much about different suspension setups. I think we should start a post on the differences in the different types and some user feed back. These are the different systems i found and we should say something about.

I'm possibly looking at upgrading my suspension and it isn't cheep. I'm looking for a Daily driver, but one that is awesome on a track or Autox situation. Something that you can adjust the height easy and change the different dampening adjustments. I know Tien Flex with the controller is a option but I was wondering what else is out there that is a good option?

I think this will benefit everyone, so please only post if you are going to say something about a product (detailed as possible) I want to almost start what is equivalent to an all out exhaust thread, with pictures and what people think about each, again details.

Hope this becomes useful...

Looks like you skipped the JIC coilover options. Also be sure to seperate straight JIC setups from the custom tuned Muller RRE JICs + suspension setup; from what everyone says there is no comparison. I'll be going that route eventually.

95% of what you have listed you wont find feedback on because no one runs it and no one stocks it (most of it is not even offered in the US in the first place)

The most common setups you will see in the US are the Tein's, Cusco, HKS and JIC, and there is a pretty good amount of feedback on each setup in this forum.

I've got the Zeal V6/Works tuned and they are great. Very flat cornering, neutral handling and the handling threshold is much higher. Bit more road noise due to metal upper mounts vs. the stock rubber. Also, the ride below 10mph has a bit more bounce to it due to the stiff rates. But the performance gains are well worth it. BTW, when you adjust the height with all coilovers you will need an alignment because the toe settings will change.

Whiteline seems very promising... when I went to SEMA got to drive a WRX with Whiteline coilovers....had a positive feeling when I took the corners; though I know no one with them.

I love my hipermax II altho a lil more spring rate will be nice. I'd say 10/10 will be perfect. HKS, Cusco, and Zeal are my top choice. I had Zeal on my teg and they are great. My friend has Cusco zero2 on his WRX and I couldn't say enough good things about them. I think the only thing I noticed is its not as responsive as my inverted HKS. Maybe zero2r is a diff story but I wouldn't know cause i never rode in one. Hope that will help.
