suspension question

quick question suspension guys. i should be good going with 18x8.5 wheels, 235/40/18 tires and the hotchkis lowering springs which do i believe 1.5" front drop and 1" rear drop. im meaning as far as rubbing and things. i figure it will be alright. anyone run this wheel/tire/spring combo???

You will be perfectly fine! even when they settle to 2in in front and 1.5 in back!!

yeah i figured that the springs will settle a bit after a little use. plenty of people have 18s so i didnt figure it would be a proble. i was originally going to go w/ 245/40/18 but someone said they had a shade of rubbing with that tire on 18x8.5 before dropping it. thats why i went with the 235s. thanks

That set-up is ok, no rubbing.

You should be ok. Springs do settle but they shouldn't settle .5" , do the hotchkis settle that much?

evilution8 Feb 13, 2005 03:40 PM

no they shouldnt settle .5". plus even if they do that puts them at 2" drop. im sure there are some people around here rolling on 18s that have the tein springs which i believe right off the bat drop the front 2". anyway thanks for the feedback guys. ill post up pics once i get it done. i have a silver evo. i have black axis reverb wheels w/ polished lip. they will go on in the spring. im also dropping it with teh hotchkis this spring and tinting.
