Evo Brembo's to RSX

Hey guys I havent been on here in a while because i recently got an RSX-S but I have stared to auto-X and was consiering a brake upgrade. Ive checked a few junkyards around and there are a few wrecked evo's and was thinking of just getting some brembo's off of them. would that work? will they fit or be compatible? I have 17's as im sure most of you do as well so im not really woried about clearance just compatibility and not having to replace the entire brake system. I know I would most likley have to get custom braided lines. So what ya think guys any input would be great. I know yall have the best stock brakes ever (according to SCC). thanks in advance

bump.......anyone?

seems like it would be more money then its worth. there is gonna be far too much fabrication when there is so many options for the rsx already!

Where is said junkyard filled with wrecked evos?

bacalhau16 Oct 26, 2005 12:53 AM

yea that def seems more interesting to me too!

going Evo-->RSX, you might want to try the RSX fourms, they'll probably be better help. Plus, you really don't need Brembo...I don't know how much they'll charge you for the calipers in the junk yard, but you can buy nice Stoptech ones for very reasonable prices as well.

They won't work, you will need some massive ass fabrication skills that you trust so that the calipers won't rip off a adapter bracket, also i remeber that in CRSX there were some clearance issuues using 02-04 size rims

oh, remember, you brakes are EXTREMELY VITAL. I would never recommend using used brakes or brakes mounted on a custom adapter. If they fail for any instance from the damage they recieved from the crash, you will be in EXTREME DANGER.

ID agree I would never rig up a brake setup not worth your life for the cool looks you get out of them

what about the aem big brake kit?

Tsurara Oct 27, 2005 07:27 AM

You don't really "need" big brakes for autox. If you were road racing, I would say go for it. The extra weight and money could be better spent elsewhere. You are usually only going about 60mph, if that on an autox course. Your brakes won't be heated up as much as if you were going 120mph on a road course. Get some nicer pads, you will probably have to fab up a bunch of stuff depsite the brembos being used on the Integra Type-R.

I've been on CRSX for a while, first decrease your rotating mass by slotted rotors from stop tech, then just use bigger pads, the rsx is light and the callipers are strong enough as long as you have the 05 RSX with the bigger rotors. Or you can rip the ITR brembos off and put em on ur but u have to use the aluminum control arms found on the ITR as well or you won't be able to mount it. You can find the brembos and control arms in semi-far condition for about 1000 total. Or get stop techs, but as i said, the RSX's brakes are quite capable.
