I've got about 14,000 miles on mine, second winter on them. Horrible road conditions last week, tires felt like they were not getting to the pavement but car was still controllable. These were some of the WORST road conditions I've seen in many years (20 years behind the wheel and I still always find an excuse to go out before the plows whenever I can!!) On that particular day I was going to work as usual. Highway traffic was limited to about 25 mph and that was really all the traction there was. Amazing that people were still tailgating eachother.
To really answer your question, I find that the Proxes 4's are fair for acceleration in snow, but really shine when braking. I am sometimes surprised how well the car stops in snow with them. When (deliberately) sliding around last winter the car could still be controlled with light throttle and gentle countersteer.
I miss the tank-like traction I got in my WRX wagon on the stock tires (205/55R16 Bridgestone REO92's). That tire size has a very different contact patch and, of course, Subaru AWD is different than Mitsu Evo AWD.
