Do 19's fit well?
Thinking about getting new wheels for the '03 Evo 8. Have HKS Coilovers on it. How well of a fit are they? Any rubbing going on??

Look good to me. I'd stick with 18's though, saves you the trouble of fitment and saves lots of money on tires and such.

evo's are made for 17's ... :crap: these will look huge and mad stunna
but if you insist on 19's then I would have to say the tires would most likely rub a bit, especially if you are planning on doing a decent drop |
i don't know. have to sell the ones i have first lol but i am debating the subject...i'm thinking 19's are more for the show cars and not the go cars

i still dont understand why you guys go on about 19s having fitment issues.
you get lower profile tyres with 19s that mean the overall diameter is the same as 17s or 18s, so why on earth would you have fitment issues when the overall diameter is exactly the same! if you put 19s on, make sure they are some good quality and light wheels, that way they will look hot and not ruin the performance of the car |
I know someone with 19's on his evo and IMO, I think they're ugly... If you get a lower profile tire, it would'nt make a difference as 17's or 18's as xcuzme said.

So apparently the Toyota GT1 was "just" a show car? http://www.conceptcarz.com/vehicle/z...1/default.aspx It exploited the rule on brake size by running 19X13's and the biggest carbon brakes that would fit. The key with 19's is getting a wheel that doesnt weigh 30 lbs. apiece and a tire that isnt so heavily reinforced that it weighs 30 a tire. Do they look good? Sure, but so do big 18's with 275's. |
I love 19s also, however, if you live in the city it may turn out to be a very rough ride. Think about the roads you drive on. If they’re really s#!ty like they are in Philly (where I’m from) 19s may not be a good idea. But if you’ve got great roads to roll on, go for it.
And like others have stated, if you buy 19s, try and find a light weight wheel. :mitsu: |
