Center caps, are they necessary?
I saw many people who have aftermarket rims don't have center caps on their rims. Is this good for the center bore? Would water get in from the center opening and cause rusting on the wheel bore?

Well, the actual bearings and grease are sealed in by the spindle nut and washer. But the nut, cotter pin, etc that are exposed can corrode over time.
Besides, it looks ghetto with no cap... might as well spraypaint the car flat back while you're at it... my opinion of course. |

Me being in the wheel business can tell you center caps aren't necessary... but, like 2Cool said, looks ghetto, actually looks real ****ty sometimes, completely ruins the look of a wheel.{thumbdwn}

yeah, it does not help when the center nut, and cotter pin are all coroded... {thumbdwn}

See, I love how my Advans on the Legacy look without the caps..the caps was way to clean on a look for my taste. But to me it depends on the wheel and the car.
