Which size 215/ 55 R 17 or 245 /45 R17 snow tires would you run
As the title states...
if given the choice which size would you run... 215 - 55- 17 or 245 45 17 |
If you can get the 215 to fit, run it. Think pizza cutter verses rolling pin, which would provide more "contact" with the ground under snowy conditions, (snow tyres don't need width/surface area).

Unfortunately these are the only two sizes i can afford |
215's are a tad too narrow for the oe 8" wheel. Why not run the oe 235's?

Exactly!!! Go OE size... |
I just bought some 225/45/17 for me OE wheels, fit perfect!
|
215 245 to big
|
i have the Dunlop M3s on OEM size... they are perfect!
|
I burned off some 225/45/17 DSM tires on my stock wheels. They fit perfect ... no issues other than being a tad shorter than normal. You probably want more clearance in the snow. I would go with stock or narrower and taller.
