How do I make 265's fit?
Ok, I have Volk LE28n's 18x9 +35 (might be 30, but I'm almost sure 35) with new Michelin PS2 265/35/18. I also have TEIN monoflex coilovers that really havent been aligned or adjusted for anything (spring rate, height, straightness). My plan was to mount my new rims, do any needed fender work, then go to big o for alignment. When I tried to put the first one on, the front right, it wouldn't fit because it's rubbing against my coilovers. How do I adjust/ move the tire away from that so they will clear????

You'll have to use a spacer. What kind of camber are you running?

I have no idea, because I have not had it aligned yet. I have tried to adjust the upper mount on the TEIN Monoflex, which Im pretty sure is for camber, but it moves the entire thing as a unit, so moving that doesnt change the distance from the coilovers, just the angle at which the coilovers/tires sit. Is there a downside to running spacers? Anyone on here running 265's want to chime in???

I run 265's and I've ran 285 Hoosiers. I can fit 265's without my spacer..but not the 285 Hoosiers. It will be different from wheel to wheel and tire to tire. Different tires have different section widths and your wheels are different from what I run. Each setup will vary. I run 18x9.5's with a staggered offset.
Also..is the alignment bolt in your strut flipped? You can increase and decrease the distance depending on which way it is. It will also change your camber...but flip it to increase the distance and then use your coilovers to adjust the camber where you want it. |
