235/40-18 vs 265/35-18 + A/S tire feedback

Hey guys, just wanted to get a bit of feedback on some recommendations between these 235/40-18 and 265/35-18 tire sizes. Maybe some pros, cons, or would I even notice?

Background:
- Daily driven
- 18x9.5 wheels
- Occasionally recreationally tracked

I will be running an all-season, would like great wet traction, acceptable light snow traction, and am considering the following:

- Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season
- Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus
- Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS (Currently on the vehicle in 265/35-18)

I know there are tradeoffs w/ all-seasons, but I'm seriously pondering the necessity of running a 265 width tire when I track it so rarely. 235/40-18 seems like it would be better when in the winter, without sacrificing that much grip?

Thanks for your help!

Narrower is better when it comes to wet and snow. Tracking on an a/s wont be spectacular anyway so I wouldn't worry about losing much on the size side of things.

I'd stay away from the GY as it gets super noisy and wears weird longer in life. Have had a lot returned recently cause of that. The B-Stone and Mich tested very very similar in our recent tire testing. Personally I'd go with the B-Stone and save a couple $$. That means you'll have to use the 265's though cause the 960 in 235 isn't out yet.
