evo mr with eibach's

I have an evo ix mr and want to get lowering springs. I want to keep the stock blisteins. I hope this isn't a repost, I found one thread on mr loweing but it was 05 and I wasn't sure if its the same. But what I got out of it was to get the works or swift lowering springs. What about eibach sportlines? Also what about camber will just a alighment do the job or will I need to buy something else?

thanks

No need for a camber kit first off, you will be fine with the stock adjustments.

Swifts are popular for a lower look without screwing up handling, ride quality, and blowing your shocks. You really can't go any lower....you need suspension travel for the suspension to work.

Eibachs are a bit soft and low IMO. They aren't the worst, but low and soft means you're going to be hitting the bumpstops a lot of the time (even Swifts are engaging bumpstops frequently).

For a more subtle drop, we make our own GTWORX springs that lower only 20mm....just under an inch. More suspension travel to soak up bumps and better suspension geometry. Our rates are slightly higher than Swift Sports too. Handling and ride quality was our goal over looks.

I recommend three: Swifts (Sport or SpecR), GTWorx, or RobiSpec.

I have the GTWORX springs and the ride and handling are better. Just be careful with the zero-lift kit when driving around ;-)

The Eibach would be a bit softer handling but better ride than the others.

What about works lowering springs?

GTWORX.com Nov 18, 2009 07:11 AM

I don't know much about them since they don't release their rates. Seem like an okay spring, but having the spring rates would help.

If I am not mistaken, there is no different between springs from 03-06. There are MR specific springs but you can use standard springs on MR struts and MR intended springs on standard struts.

OEM GSR and MR are the same.

Some companies created some slightly different rear rates on their springs (like Swift). Difference is very slight.
