Real or fake te37's and off set question

I am looking to buy these for the evo but he doesnt know the offset, would these look good and is the off set ok?

he says they are original Volk Racing TE-37 in silver/gunmetal 5x114.3 17x8.5.

What should I expect to pay for these and the tires are bad.

sorry for big pics, want you to see the detail

Yes I AM A NOOOOB!!! :lol::lol:

To determine if the wheels are genuine you would need to see the hub. Look for this (the last pic):

As for offset, you can always get spacers. What offset are the wheels?

17x8.5 is so weak, I'm sorry but you might as well stick with stockies then. I would get atleast a 9.5 or a 9. And yes those look to be real TEs

ya i dont like how they are so flush, ill just stick with my bbs diamonds ;)

the quick answer to this one is that there is no stamp on the front that says forged monoblock......which means they are fake. the poster above is right though about the rays stamp on the inside. that does not get copied{thumbdwn}

on second thought.....they could be a set from a long time ago, before they put the stamp on the front.

I agree with the "why 8.5" comment. If you're buying these wheels just for looks... it would be a waste!

Just to add a little tidbit, Ray's never includes centercaps since these are actual racing wheels, and plastic center caps will melt off after one race.

These sort of comments are :sad: for the state of the car.

Weak? What about weight savings per corner? Ignoring if these fit or not, if they save 2-3 lbs a corner over the BBS, its a great mod.

Getting 9 or 9.5 for looks or running a wide/heavy tire on the street is nonsense. But hey, if you enjoy slower acceleration due to increase corner weight, slower turning response from tire contact patch...just to look cool - go for it.

you read my mind :beer:
if someone wants a wheel for THERE car and has the funds to do it, so be it. no need to bash, if you didn't know, volks are some pretty nice light racing wheels most people get em for looks others for the weight savings, just saying...
