Both driver and passenger side is like this. I assume I need to replace both arms? What would cause this?

Yikes. Definitely you need to replace those "toe" arms. I've never heard of this happening. Were these hammered on in the past?

They shouldn't have been. They've never been off the car. The only thing that has been done to the rear is brake pads. That's why it's got me stumped on how this could have happened. I noticed that I spelled "toe" wrong after I created the original thread, but couldn't edit it.

Wow

Wow haven't seen that before. I got some used ones for sale if you still haven't changed them.

Thanks, but I've already got them swapped out. I had never heard not seen that either.

Guys over in the UK have had problems like this, on the bush end too and they have also had problems with the upper arm cracking aswell.

It always cracks along that forging line but the arms that tend to crack over there are the evos that are driven during winter lots as corrosion sets in and weakens it there.

Mine has had many miles put on it in the snow and salty roads. Maybe that was the problem. I really don't know, I just hope I don't have it happen again.

Those parts are aluminum, I don't think rust and corrosion would affect them. Are you the original owner of the car?

Do you track your car? I would think the car would have to see some severe stress for that to happen. Might possibly have been defective from the factory.

Necrobump. Just found one of mine cracked the other night. Check your arms people!

Good catch. This failure is likely more common than whats been reported :crap:

I have hard race rear toe arms. The stock ones came off at 55k miles with no apparent issues. How many miles on yours? Lots of track use?

Ayoustin Jan 2, 2019 10:11 AM

Bout 110k, tons of track time over the past 6-7 years.

LetsGetThisDone Jan 2, 2019 10:23 AM

Would probably just chalk it up to fatigue over time. With track use, it is being subjected to much harder impacts (and much more often) than it was really designed for...

Ayoustin Jan 2, 2019 10:28 AM

Yea it's not mindblowing or anything to see this, just haven't heard of it being a problem before.
