Need help with tire sizing

I'm hooking for a set of Hoosier slicks for my 17" Volks. Whats the ideal size to run on and evo with a 17" wheel?

Wheels are 17x8.5

I have no idea what height to use. I'm also on a stock final drive.

I know many use a 245/40-17 with no problems. I have Hoosier A6 and R6 in that size for $282 ea plus shipping. Let me know when interested!
