Evo 8&9 Wheel set up that DONT need spacers or roll fenders

I am trying to figure out a more practical wheel set up that DONT need any spacers or fender rolling.

My set up i am going to buy is Weds Sport RN-05 18x9+34 with 245/40/18 prob run Pilot Sport for rubber or Yoko's

Please feel to let me know what else works!!

Why are you averse to to wheel spacers? Regardless if you want to roll fenders or not, to maximize tire fit the front needs a different offset than the rear.

Spacers are a hazard i have broke lots many to trust them. As for the fender roll i own a MINT stock 8 and wanna keep it as stock looking without making permanent changes

I'm running 18x9 +35, no spacers. Factory fenders and quarters are untouched. No clearance issues at full compression, at full steering lock or anything in between. No clearance issues at all.

255/35/18 595 RSRR

My Evo is a little bit lower than stock. I'm including a picture to give you a feel for the ride height.

17x9 +35 5-Zigen FN01R-C with 255/40-17 tires, no spacers, fenders have never been touched. The car isn't as low as the picture would make it seem but knowing the abuse I throw at the car it would have contacted fender by now if it was going to.

The biggest you'll be able to go is a 9' wide wheel with 35 offset, and 255/40r17 or 255/35r18 tire depending if you choose a 17" or 18" wheel.

Spacers are perfectly safe if you go with ARP extended studs and quality billet slip on spacers.

But since you don't want to roll the rear fenders that's a moot point..

That is basically an incorrect statement. If you broke a spacer or a stud in any form then you had cheap hardware or would have broken a stud without them. Spacers dont put any additional load on studs beyond the difference in offset.

But, no worries if you just dont want to use them. I can understand wanting to keep within the OEM form as well.

Might just have to! Its been a b*tch trying to find some

kyoo May 13, 2019 07:44 PM

it's cuz the +34s were discontinued a few years ago, which was the only set that fit. the +28s fit with a fender roll, but those were just discontinued also

One benefit of the 17" is that a 255/40-17 is a much cheaper tire than a 255/35-18. Overall they're the same height so the gap will be the same regardless. In an RE71R there is a $65 difference per tire favoring the 17.

that's true also - the only reason is cuz I went Evo X brakes. a worthwhile trade for me
