evodynamics Evo X Fuel Surge Tank Group Buy

Hi everyone,

after some on track testing we are ready to release our evo X fuel surge tank system.

what does it do?

when making hard left turns at a track or on the street, the X fuel tank is shaped such that the fuel will slosh to the passenger side of the car, leaving your fuel pump sucking in air, and starving your engine of fuel (sputters and can stall).

our Surge tank acts as a buffer for this, and allows an uninterrupted fuel supply to the engine.

the kit includes everything needed to install incuding installation instructions.
included:
1 all aluminum 1.5L surge tank with -6AN feed fittings and -4AN return fittings, bracket for mounting to the car, and mounting posts for the pump
4 braided nylon fuel hoses with aluminum AN hose ends
1 walbro 255 external fuel pump with insulator kit and wiring to power pump, as well as in tank pump.

Cost:
retail price after february 1st = $700 + shipping
group buy price 1-10 units (up until february 1st)= $650 + 10 for shipping
11-20 units = 625 + 10 for shipping
21+ units = 600 + 10 for shipping

we are going to keep the options limited on the group buy to keep it simple, so here are the options:

Hard anodizing of the tank = +$50 dollars - black or clear.
if 10 or more people want anodizing of the same color = +$30
this is useful if you plan on running E85, as the bare alunimum can corrode over time exposed to Alcohol. our testing and cars running aluminum tanks and E85 show its a very slow process, but the anodizing is a protective coating that can fix that.

Bosch 044 external feed pump (to replace the walbro 255)= +$125
this pump flows quite a bit more fuel then the walbro 255 pump, and is a good option for those running larger turbos or higher HP cars with E85. this pump is needed for those running on average 450+whp on a mustang dyno. ask us if your not sure if you will need it or not. This pump also comes with a larger feed line and a slightly different mounting location then the walbro pump.

we can take payment in full up front, and refund people depending on how many people buy in by feb. we will also send them out in batches of 10, so you don't need to wait until feb to get yours. we can take check by mail, credit card over the phone and online, or paypal. please be sure to include your screen name, real name, and address so i can add the names to the list here, as well to know where its going

if you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Email on the way.

After tracking my car often this year, there is no way I am going through starvation again in 2011!

Thanks for the info Kevin!

i'm waiting for the VIII/9 version

Will you recommend these kits to lower HP cars as well? It seems to me a car tracking or AutoXing should have such a setup regardless of the HP, the G-forces would be the deciding factor, am i wrong KD?

sorry, been busy the last few weeks with our first baby!

anyway, to answer your question chris, yes, if your pulling hard Gee's this will be beneficial to even lower HP cars. especially if your running longer sessions where fuel level can't be kept high enough. for the 8/9 guys, you can run the tank pretty low before it will starve in a corner (i was able to run below a 1/4 tank before i had issues).

for the X guys, with sticky tires, it can happen even at 2/3 of a tank!

I'm interested but have to commit to a fuel strategy and discuss with my tuner. I want e85 but being in NJ, it's not a particularly good idea...
