Custom Cobb AP Stage 1 Tune @ Surgeline Tuning
Just got done with Tim Bailey up at Surgeline Tuning in Portland Oregon, and drove home with an 90WHP GAIN!!!! I am very pleased with how reliable and how much more powerful the car is. It feels like a completely new car especially with the Cobb Springs that where put on yesterday. It pulls much harder and way smoother now.
Here is the Dyno Sheet which shows my cars first run with just the stock tune and an cat-back exhaust and intake then with the custom stage 1 map. It was well worth the money and I recommend a tune, it really makes the biggest difference, like light and day. Before: 276 Wheel Torque and 236 WHP After: 323 Wheel Torque and 325 WHP http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...3/P1000664.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...3/P1000690.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...nch13/22-2.jpg And here is how it looks with the new springs http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...3/P1000692.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...3/P1000693.jpg http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...3/P1000694.jpg |
Great numbers, congrats.
Nice figures. That's pump gas 93 octane right? Question do you have the whole Cobb intake I mean the inlet hose and Cone filter or just the Cone Filter?
We only have 92 octane in Oregon and I just have the Cobb cone... no inlet hose
If you dont mind, how much the custom tune cost ya. Feel free to PM if you want.
Good numbers. |
^^ i'd like to know also. Heard Tim does good work! Also shouldn't it be a stage 2 tune since it was tuned already and not an off the shelf map?
The cost for the Tune was 275 after a 100 dollar rebate for buying the AP from them
And it is a Stage 1 Map.... what he did was use the off the shelf stage 1 map and then custom tuned from there for the mods that I have. He said that for stage 2 i will need a down-pipe and a replacement boost restrictor pill. |
^^Nice numbers. Tim is super professional. He did mine as well, but I have stage 2. With my boost pill, down pipe, and FMIC I made 341whp on a mustang dyno. I paid 375 for custom tune. No rebate:( Stage 1 is for a stock car with just a tune. Its amazing Ive spent at least another 2.5k in mods and only get 20 whp out of it lol.
^^Yea he told me he was in Texas doing some Tuning.. He really knows what works and what doesn't. Do you have an MR???
^^No I have a GSR. The only difference my curve seems to pick up hp and tq a little lower in the Rev range I think.
^^ Thats strange cause i would think with your mods and the stage 2 custom tune that you would be around 350-360. When i asked Tim about stage 2 he told me that he had done a couple but it was still in R&D testing.
^^Guys at Cobb Plano said their dyno usually reads 10-15 lower so that would be in the 350 range. You are correct my Map from Tim says Stage 2 Beta Map. Boost is 27 tapering to 21 with boost pill. Car feel amazing now though doesnt it? Wait after you drive it a couple of days. It seems to get better.
^When i was on the freeway home I didn't notice it that much but also i was really tired and it was super rainy so never really got to get on it. But i just got back from a drive and man it is freaking fast and a ton smoother. I still cant believe what a big difference it made.
^This shifts come alot faster, and silky smooth all the way to Rev Limiter. 3rd and 4th gear are tons of fun now. I understand the rain thing. I drove for Dallas back to Oklahoma City after my tune and could only drive 50 cause of ridiculously think fog.
^just cant wait to get to the track and see how it feels, especially from the new springs the car feels a lot more tight handling wise. And of coarse a drop always looks good
