That is huge amount of power for an X (or any car for that matter) to put down. That it is going through the SST is amazing. My hat is off to you and everyone involved in the build.

Do you care to share what it took to get the SST to cope with that amount of power?

Thanks, it has a prototype Dodson Sportsman/Kozmic 14 plate clutch pack and a conservative tune keeping the RPMs kinda low. Hard to believe with the power it already has but we still have a few PSI to play with and a good bit more power it can make.

Rev limit is set 8600 but the way its tuned currently its optimal shift point is between 7-7500rpm. After some strengthening upgrades we will change it up and rev it out quite a bit more. Not sure on the boost curve. I don't have it on any of the graphs I have and we didn't look at it at the shop while I was there.

Thats good and early power from a 6870. What compression ratio?

jake33 Feb 23, 2018 09:19 AM

Great #’s!

what made you guys go with a 2.2 compared to a 2.0?

was fitment if the 6870 any issue?

any reason as to why you chose it over the 9180 EFR?

I think the PTE6766 is more comparible to the EFR9180 at around 94 lbs/min flow. I know the PTE6870 G2 is closer to 110 lbs/min and bigger numbers especially for a drag racing or 1/2 mile & 1 mile event scenario.

Wow. That's all.

I am not sure on the compression as the engine was built by the previous owner and the invoice is just listed as a stage package.

was fitment if the 6870 any issue? There were no fitment issues but its very close to the cam sensor shield.

As far as EFR vs PTE goes, I nor Kozmic are a fan of the BW turbos.

I see. Why the 1.15 AR and the not the V-band .96?

likely because he is TS anyway, and thats about 20% difference in ar, so it balances out
