Is this typical?

Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum and joined to get probably some of the better info there is on Evo's and try to maximize my cars potential. I'll will start off by saying I'm mechanically inclined but not a guru and as from as tuning is concerned, I don't know much at all. I drive a '15 GSR with the AMS STX400 package that I purchased through DSG two years ago. AMS suggests that it gets your car to 400hp but I'm sure those are crank numbers and not what you're putting to the ground.

Anyway, I got my car dynoed recently and the numbers were lower than what I expected. I don't have a relationship with this shop so I don't know if the information they were giving me was good. I was told that the OEM BOV is very limiting and possibly not allowing my numbers to be higher. That doesn't sound all that convincing to me but then again that's why I'm here. It was a hot day and it took a while to drive to that shop so I'm not sure if heat soak played a part. It's an AMS e-tune through an Accessport on 93. Let me know if this is typical or if there's anything I could or should be doing to maximize performance with what I have.

Thanks!https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.evo...96209d2305.jpg

I think that kit is 400 at the crank, so you numbers are a bit low. Consider a pro tune.

I have stage II with Cobb quad turbo back, K&N filter, access port , and a pro tune. Making 313whp/ 330trq at the wheels. Or 391hp/ 412trq at the crank based on 25% driveline loss.

Yeah, AMS is comparing crank numbers on their site. Your curves are a bit of a mess so I would also recommend having someone work on the tune. AMS did a good job of matching the parts to the tune, but every car responds a little differently so a pro tune is always a good idea. The OTS tune from AMS/COBB/ETC is also conservative to avoid liability and to be most compatible.

I actually bought a Tial QRJ BOV and contacted Chris this morning. I'll talk to you more about it when i pick up those wheels.

Nothing wrong with the stock BOV on the stock turbo. Looks like the car is running lean, >12.0 AFR the entire pull, and looks to be in the 13's below 5k. Not safe. Definitely get it tuned. I'm gonna assume the STX400 package is a sort of "full bolt-ons" type deal. Should put you in the 330-350whp range on a dynojet.

For what it's worth I essentially have the 400 kit (bought piecemeal through the years AMS intake DP and IC and IC pipes with ETS HFC) but I had the car tuned at AMS on their dyno. Made 334whp 311wtq.
