Had Pioneer Avic Z1 installed

Had my Z1 installed a few weeks ago and now just got pictures up. The system is stock using the Metra dash kit, I had to bypass my factory Fosgate amp and currently running four speakers. Still waiting for the release of a new wiring harness that will integrate the factory system. Anyone know when the harness will be released? Thanks.

Very nice Unit, I wish this Unit was under $1000, I like this one way
better then my D3,

The only bad news I have for you is the OEM amp does not use the standard remote
turn on that tradition amps use. The OEM AMP on this car, use the car's CANbus system to turn on the amp. I really don't know how the CANbus system work.
But CANbus and Car amp dont sound like a good mix. Its seem like alot of work
just to get a fairly crappy oem amp to work with an aftermarket system.

Thuan, thanks for the info. The thing that sucks is that I was pretty happy with the stock speaker system.....looks as if I will need to upgrade the amp. I was hoping Metra or some one else would have a wiring harness to solve this problem.

Nice looking setup!
So what does the display on the stock head unit show apart from audio stuff? Any computer info (like mpg, trip, etc.) and what happens to it when you install an aftermarket unit?

I thought this was it on metraonline.com--> http://retailer.installationexcellen...roductid=11639
It' says it's for a 2008 lancer with the 9 speaker OEM Rockford Fosgate system which I assume is the same for the Evo...I don't know much about car audio though so if it's wrong sorry, just trying to be helpful...

Mojito, I didn't have the factory Nav system. I had the 6 disc player...sorry couldn't be of any help. For the information of the MPG, trip, etc....the dash has all the information you are asking about. HTH.

Thanks for the info. I was actually asking about the SSS unit (not Navi). I didn't realize that the trip computer info is shown on the dash display. That makes things much easier. So the ony ifo that the stock (SSS) head unit shows is the audio stuff?

No, I'm pretty sure that you can control things like which doors unlock with fast key, dome light duration and things like that through the nav, so idk what you have to do if you get rid of it!!

How did you get around the Hazard light cluster part with the ribbon being connected to that and the face of the OEM radio?

Just gently pull on the ribbon with a side to side motion and it comes out pretty easy. Then finish the aftermarket head unit install. HTH.
