i should have sayed i have fast key witch i really like so if i installed a new alarm system i would have to tote 2 key fobs around all the time so if i could install shock sensers on the alarm i have it might not be the best but it would be better and a lot more convient

I'm interested in this actually. My girlfriend just bought an Imprezza 2.5 and one of the accessories you can buy is a shock sensor. Mitsu accessories suck compared to Subaru's.

From what I have heard, the X does not like aftermarket alarm systems and turbo timers with the fast key. I could be wrong, but that's what I was told by a mitsu tech.

What did you end up finding out about adding a shock sensor? If it's easy to do then it's worth it IMO.

I wonder if you could buy a shock sensor from somewhere and just splice it into the " door opened switch" so when the shock sensor vibrates enough it will set off the the door opened switch and therefore set off the factory alarm.

I do beleive that it could be wired in that way. Not a bad idea.
