Yeah I can get to the battery cover. It's a little bit trickier, maybe takes an extra minute. Also the carpet is above the bottom of the cover but it was that way stock too.
And yes I can get to the spare tire. The carpet comes up at the woofer and folds from left to right exposing the tire. The amp rack only covers up the jack area. I moved the jack and levers down into the tire area.

Actually the project is all done with what you see in the trunk. Before this, I already put in a Clarion double din head unit and navi and their 5.1 Dolby processor. MB Quarts in the front and rear doors running off the 4x150 Alpine. I also put a backup camera above the rear license plate. That's real sweet!
The 10" JL and 1x600 Alpine sound sweet too. I kinda wish I had gone with a 12" and 1x1000 amp because the enclosed trunk really deadens the bass, especially with 150W at each speaker, but I can live with it. Plus the idea all along was to keep the added weight to a minimum. The whole system weighs about 12 lbs more then the stock system mostly because of the amp rack. My *** sits in traffic 90% of the time so 12 lbs is meh.

Nice job on the box. Very well done.
It is nice to see members doing their on projects and fallowing through with a nice finish.
If anyone is interested in a Similar but not the same box we have started making them, they will be ready to ship with in a couple of weeks. You will have the option for a 10" or a 12"... Of course you can build your own but if you don't have the time and the know how our enclosures will be a great solution and a great add on for your EVO X. Not only they will sound better then the Factory Rockford but They will look better like salukidude's installation.
There is a thread in the Vendor forums please go there and see the details, I don't want to steal this thread, I just wanted to make people aware.

That is exactly what I had in mind when thinking about upgrading the sub. I hope my local shop can handle that job. They have made custom boxes for me before but this is definately trickier.
