Loading MP3's onto server?

Just wondering if anyone has figured out how to load MP3's onto the server?
According to the manual its not possible to record MP3's from a CD onto the server, unlike music from a regular CD.
I tried burning MP3's onto a DVD-R and the navi unit wouldn't read it.

Thx.

You're speaking of the mmcs?

You can't copy mp3 files from a disc to the drive. The disc must be an audio cd. It can be a burned cd, but it must be in audio cd format, NOT data.

You cannot play mp3 files for dvd discs. Only from CDs. You can only play video DVDs in the mmcs.

A burned cd, as in a cd you burned on your computer.

Depending on how you burned the cd, there are options to burn it as a data cd (mp3 files) or as an audio cd (just like a cd from the store)

And yeah, it sucks you can't copy mp3's over to it. That would be awesome. A full 80 minute cd takes about 17 minutes to rip.

I have a IX so not familiar with what you're referring to, but this sounds very similar to the Pioneer AVIC-Z1 (and likely Z3) method.

Exactly what Webman states. A CD with .mp3 files on it is considered a data CD. When you burn a music CD, the files are in .cda format, which are basically glorified .wav files.

You can do this straight out of the latest WMP, assuming you're running windows.

What a pain that you can't burn from a MP3 disc to your car, try the suggestion as mentioned above. What I try to do is copy from the MP3 disc to the computer, then burn it onto another blank disc as audio or data...sometimes it work, sometimes it doesn't. Does not hurt to try cause I love not having tons of discs in my car, when I could just burn it on the hard drive. Good Luck!

Give us some time. You'll have a proper MP3 server for your MMCS soon enough.

Yep - I think they do this so they don't **** off the RIAA, which includes some of their close competitors by allowing this to be too easy. It really does suck.
