replacing stock non-navi head unit

i want to replace my stock head unit with a sony touch screen dvd unit. i am not sure if it will be a problem or not because of how wide the stock radio is. the sony head unit is a 7" screen. does anyone know if there will be a problem?

If it is a double DIN unit it should fit.

I have the Alpine IVA-W505 Double DIN 7" touchscreen installed in my Evo X and it fits in the stock brackets fine.

You'll just have to make sure you get a good double DIN dash kit. There are a couple out there and some of them don't fit too well. I decided to use the JDM double DIN dash panel and it fits great. I also had the Metra dash kit installed for a short period while I was waiting for my JDM panel to get here. The Metra kit was of very poor fit and finish.
