Hey guys, I purchased the Pioneer X940BT for my Evo and I have no idea where to install the purple reverse wire.... Does anyone know if i hook it up into the VSS? (blue and white wire)

I'm interested in this too. Been searching for almost an hour looking for the answer. I know it's hiding in that harness somewhere. If someone has the wiring service manual and would be nice enough to look it up that would be awesome.

Did you try the VSS wire? I'm about ready to break out a tester and test every wire and see which one gets 12V when I hit reverse. Haven't pulled the dash out yet though.

 

just t-tap a wire into the reverse light bulb in your rear tail light harness, it only gets voltage in reverse. You can even run the wire along with your camera wire for a clean, quick install.

 

Tap into the reverse harness in the trunk. Right on top of the winshield fluid cover behind the cover. Its the wider white cable you want to tap into. Theira a thinner white cable and theirs a bigger one.

 

How much it cost to get the unit with the capability to have a reverse backup camera in your car? I just have the stock 2008 MR cd face in my car, but I would love to get this type if setup. Thanks!

 

Isn't it possible to just hook it up to the reverse bulb 12v wire?
