Wiring Questions for installing head unit

So im installing my AVIC HU but i am extremely confused on the wiring. i would like to think im pretty good electrically but after alot of research and wiring diagrams i cant seem to figure out how Mitsubishi set everything up. I have a 11 EVO X without RF sound system. i took out the factory head unit and there is 3 connectors. 1 connector was taped and didnt even go into the factory unit, the 2nd connector is an 18pin connector and the third is a 20pin connector. i dont know what the 18pin belongs to? the 20pin has 18 wires and i dont know where 5 wires belong. i know it sounds confusing but for some reason i cant upload a picture so Can someone please help me out or point me in the right direction? I appreciate it!

Okay well one is a speaker wire harness and it will have a pair of grey, white, purple and green wires.

The other harness will have a multitude of wires; you want the red, yellow, and orange wires. The Evo X wiring is JDM colors, that means that the red and yellow are opposite of USDM wiring. Yellow is ACC 12v+ and red is constant 12v+. Orange is illumination wire. Black is ground.

If it were me, I'd just go to Best Buy and buy an adapter harness for $10

Yea, i bought a harness from crutchfield and i got most of the wires figured out but here is what i dont understand. On the 20 pin connector i am clueless to blue/black wire, white, orange, black/blue, and white/green. you said orange was for illumination but i got green/white wire for illumination.

you won't use all of the wires though. Pic up a trailer light tester from walmart for a few bucks and use it to test whichever wires you're unsure of. For example, touch it to the wire and turn headlights on to confirm which wire is for headlights.

you can use imgur.com and just paste the link

Try not to over complicate your install too. You don't need every wire in the harness! You need power, ground, ACC, illumination, and speakers. Disregard everything else!

good luck

you're supposed to plug the crutchfield harnesses into those plugs and it converts the wire colors for you, and you don't need them all. If you got the proper harness, plug that into the white harnesses and then connect the matching colored wires to the new deck.

MIT-02 is only for the factory Rockford Fosgate system, it also has a tendency to catch on fire.

For the "info" button, you probably disconnected it's little harness on accident. I've done it. Pop the bezel off and look behind the button and harness is probably not plugged in
