Hi, I hate electrical (long story with my old 944 that has forever tainted me), but I'm looking to dump the stock halogen lights for a whiter light source. HID bulbs in reflective housings are bad and just make people angry, but I'm wondering if LEDs are a suitable solution?

I see they make what looks like P&P led bulbs for the 9005 & 9006 halogens, but I'm looking for recommendations and guidance. I love the 5000k color of my s2000's HID; pure white, so that is solved.

Things I'm looking to get answered

1) I notice lots of LED full retrofit kits that have projectors also have bulbs with massive heat sinks, whereas the P&P ones for halogens don't. Will that be an issue? I'd prefer to avoid melting my headlights

2) Does anyone have good brand recommendations, or at the very least brands to avoid?

3) What wattage should I be looking for when buying that will be comparable or maybe slightly brighter than the halogens?

P.S. I searched google and these forums and only found good info on LED's for the HID headlights, obviously not applicable to my situation
