Speech function not working on 2015 Evo FE after OEM Navigation Upgrade

Speech function not working on 2015 Evo FE after OEM Navigation Upgrade
I need help with this:
I have a 2015 Evo X Final Edition. After upgrading the non-nav unit to an OEM Nav unit, everything works perfectly with the exception of the speech button on the steering wheel, that commands the nav system/ and music player. when I press the button, after the beep to say a command, it says " voice could not be recognized".
However, I can pair up my phone and use the handsfree (place calls) utilizing the phone buttons in the steering wheel. So the microphone works for the Bluetooth paired device but not working for the speech/voice commands function. In the service menu it says that the microphone is not connected.
Any help would be really appreciated!!!
