2011 gsr navigation unit advice

Hi friends. I haven't been here in a while. I decided that I want to upgrade to a navigation unit. I have the Rockford Fosgate 6 cd head unit right now. I want to keep my speakers and sub. I just want a nicer head unit. What is my best option and how much money should I expect to pay for it?

The nav unit should be a plug-n-play with your system, but when they do show up in the for sale section they're around $1000-1100 for a nice used one.

Is there a specific model that I should be looking for? Are all of them compatible with the RF?
I need to keep my steering wheel controls and bluetooth functionality.

I know there are at least two different models of the nav unit, but I'm not sure what the differences are. I know I've seen N-11 and N-14 (I think those are the numbers), but I don't have a clue what their differences are lol.

Ok. I decided I want to go with an aftermarket double din. Can you guys recommend a good radio with built in nav and android integration. What are my best options?
Also, considering that i have the RF system how is the audio quality of the aftermarket radio while keeping the RF amp and speakers. I am more interested if it will sound at list as good as the Stock RF. I understand that you guys don't consider the RF a good sounding system but I actually think it performs quite good.

Thank you. I've already read this thread. I love the look but I was wondering about the sound quality and also, would you not need constant wifi for most of the functions to work?

Epyon Jul 27, 2016 11:31 AM

I'm not really sure on needing wifi, I would think it's necessary to download new apps. But as long as you don't use functions that need internet you would be fine. I mean it is meant to be a radio for cars so they wouldn't assume all cars have internet access.

I'm sure the sound quality is just as good a a standard head unit.

Hope it's the right model.
