TephraMODs for the X
Hey Dave you may want to look into this. I think being able to reset the "flash tracker" to 0 would be extremely benificial to you X guys.

No news as of yet. I had an appointment with AMS for Friday to get flashed back to stock but just learned officially, from someone elses experience, that there is in fact a counter in the ECU when flashed outside of Mitsu. In turn it is a waste of time for me to put my car back to stock only to have my car taken apart at Mitsu and have them say VOID in hopes I will have them still do the work, which I wouldn't....

I'm wondering if the "flash tracker" is just the CVN #. Mitsu knows (in their computer system) that they flashed your car with the first and second reflashes lets say. That tells them what the CVN should be since its essentially a CRC/checksum.
- It would make sense for that to be a different value for the base, first and second reflashes. (speaking USDM here, dont know if JDM has other flashes).
- If you show up having been flashed back to stock (base) they compare the CVN#'s and void you since you *should* have the second reflash
Perhaps?

well if that was the case - then you could just flash back the ROM that was on the car prior to you tuning it, and they shouldn't/wouldn't be able to tell.
