Anyone that is having this problem needs to check the fuel relay in the relay box under the hood. SilverEvoX brought his X in last night and we discovered that the relay coil was weak. It wasn't clicking the switch over very well. We put in a new relay, and the problem went away. We concluded that the relay may get weak due to the number of actuations.

^what he said. i wouldn't ever look at it. just do what richard did and swap in the horn relay to test it. i told richard this is going to be one of those things that fails on everyones car, so people should have relays lying around

What relay are we checking? Do you have a pic of it? Also, where do I get the extra relays online? Any links?

i'll get you a pick of the fried relay. richard will have to tell you where it is because he did the work. one thing to note, with relays you can't "visually" inspect them like you can with fuses. you need to manually toggle the relay on by running 12v across the coil, and check for continuity on the switch.

If you look at the relay in the pictures below, the relay marked "M" is the high voltage fuel relay. We swapped that relay with relay "B," the horn relay as a test. The relay is a standard mini 12V relay. Your local dealer should have them. I bet Auto Zone would have them as well.

This is a serious issue. Leaning out like this can cause engines to go boom, am I wrong? I am going to check mine .

you would be correct. you wont know its happening unless you have a wideband on the car too. the only way to tell without a wideband is if you would feel some hesitation up top.

well i read the first page of this thread and since i'm at work i don't have time to read all 4 pages.

what i do have to say though, is that i did a couple of runs and logged them. what i found out is that my IDC was at 91% at 22 psi with afr's of 12 spooling up and 10.8ish at peak boost. its strange that even with those high AFRs you're still getting fuel cut. i'm running meth so i want to get it to 28ish which means i'm going to have to get bigger injectors. I don't know how some people are running 25 26 on stock injectors. i'm sure their IDC is out of the roof. let me know if this helps and sorry if it was already mentioned in the last 3 pages.

A simple thing to check that could be a fix for this problem is the fuel pressure regulator vacuum line. I noticed mitsu does NOT clamp this line and under boost (especially higher boost which most of us are running) the line has a tendency to either pop off or cause a leak and make your car lean out. It's the easiest thing to check before swapping relays and fuel pumps. It's right under the plastic cover by the dipstick. Hope this helps. Good luck!

*zip tie or clamp this line regaurdless. It will save you future headaches*

I will do this, and I just replaced the relay, it was only like 8 bucks, but we'll see if it works.

Do you have a pic of where it is located? What clamps did you use?
