Just got tuned...now I have problems.

So just got tuned Wednesday and it car seemed to be running great but then my check engine light came on after being in a high rpm. I went to AutoZone to check it and I'm throwing 3 codes with one coming and going. The codes are: P0123, P1235, P1233. I had them read twice and the second time the code for my O2 sensor didnt pop like it did the first time. I'm in the process of getting these taken care of (hopefully soon) but are the codes being thrown something I should really be worried about. In the sense that I shouldn't even be driving my car. The check engine light is also on sometimes but turns off sometimes too. Also, I checked all lines, and hoses, and my O2 and MAF and everything is hooked up right. Not really sure what I can and can't do with my car now. All help is appreciated.

Thanks, Nick

I'd go back to the tuner and see if they could help since it happened after the tune.

Yeah if you are throwing codes after a tune the tuner is the only one who will be able to help you and should help you.

Not tuned correctly, you are triggering the airflow limiter.

Get it tuned properly.

I've called my tuner and texted him with hopes that he'd come fix the problems I'm having but no luck. Can anyone give input on if my car is safe and can be driven while those codes are thrown. Also, the check engine light is now off. Does that mean the codes are gone and the car is ok now? I'm just worried and confused and was hoping some more experienced Evo guys could shed some input. Thanks again.

Disable your airflow limiter= help yourself. I'd be slightly concerned about the rest of the tune since the tuner didn't know about this... but you should be able to drive your car if you don't really get on it.

I agree with both Brian and Frosty. I would be hesitant to let whoever tuned your car touch it. The information needed to tune the car correctly is readily available. At your mod level you should not have these issues at a all.

That being said, it is only fair to your original tuner to give him the opportunity to correct the issue. It could be a simple mistake, and everyone makes them sooner or later. Considering that there are some pretty well known tuners out there that are not worth a crap, it can be tough to find one you can trust.

Hey instead of starting a new thread I'm just going to build off my original post and ask another question. Well after driving for a few days, my car seems to be driving normal and much better than right after I got my tune. My check engine light is off and my car isn't going into limp mode like it did the first few days after I got tuned after some spirited driving. My friend had told me that his tuner told him when he had gotten his old Jetta flashed that it would take around 8 hours of "driving" time before the car was running 100% properly. Not sure if it's coincidental that my car is running better but it did take right around that time before my problems went away. Can anyone provide incite here? Am I totally off? I could very well be but just wanted to ask and make sure.

Also, since my check engine light is coming on anymore, does that necessarily mean the problem is gone?? Or would it still be advisable to have my tune checked out. Thanks in advance folks.

It is not really possible to anwer this question without seeing some data logs. If you can post a cruise log, (short one) with all fuel trim, maf voltage, etc, and a couple of wot logs, 3rd gear and 4th gear, it would make it easier for someone to answer. Additionally, without actually seeing the rom, it is impossible to know if other "non fuel/ign/boost" tables were adjusted properly. Since your tune is technically your tuners intelectual property, posting it up here would be inappropriate.
