ECU/Load based Fuel pump Control

Starting a separate thread on this because my surge tank thread started going in this direction.

There was a lot of good input: Beeble, Clipse, Frankiago, Tephra, etc. So I would like to get it going in here again.

Basically the idea is to have the ECU control a secondary fuel pump, be a boost a pump, surge tank, etc.

The idea is to get a 12V signal to operate the fuel pump during high loads, and have it off at cruise/idle.

Based on the fuel pump circuit diagram:

We have established that pin #51 from the ECU is what sends the signal to bypass the resistor and send the voltage from 9v to 14v on the OEM setup.

Based on info from Frankiago, he said the the ECU uses sinking outputs wich means that pin 51 supplies a negative signal to fire the coil in the fuel Pump relay.

So in theory we should be able to use the signal from pin 51, hooked up to a 12v relay, that would essentially act as an on/off switch. Off at low load/12+V at high load.

Thoughts?
