Unhappy Problem after english racing tune

so i have a 2013 gsr and i was excited to get modding on it asap and anyone in Washington with a evo as heard nothing but good things about english racing. so i put all my bolt on mods on and made an appointment for them to install the ams downpipe and grimspeed ebc, fallowed by a dyno tune. my appoinment was on march 15 at 9am i woke up at 5am to make the long *** drive to get my car done. i arrived on time and they took my car straight back and got to work on it. lunch time came around and Luke took me out with em for lunch all was great...! came back from lunch my car was pulled up on the dyno and ready to be tuned... the bad *** part..! after it was done i paid up and hit the road home i made it to tacoma about 100miles and i got my first stutter arouind 3000 rpms in 5th ... the next day i performed a boost leak test and made sure it wasn't leaking boost all was well there. Monday i called first thing and was told the tune wouldn't of caused any issues but they would talk to the tuner and get back to me. i called them again 4hrs later and someone put me thru to the tuner himself who said he would send a less aggressive map and i could flash with the tractrix cable. its now thursday night and havent heard from them at all. so i looked up many well known tuners for the evo x and every last one of them (3 all together) told me the same thing after sending them the map that they disabled my knock senor and that the mivec was very spraticly tuned and timing was thru the roof and that my stutter is getting worse because my plugs are probably melted or worse engine damage. any tunners out there that deactivate the knock sensor...? anyone have any info that could be helpful plz post ill be totally bummed if this just ruined a car with 2500 miles on it the sad thing is they never once asked me to bring it back so they could fix it....

Yikes...hope they make it right. I couldn't see any reputable tuner disabling the KS. That's kind of important for the longevity and quality of the tune, geez. Keep us updated!

If you are calling out English Racing on there "Horrible Tune" and unsafe way of tuning the X (disabling the knock sensor), you have to also tell us what "reputable tuners" you sent the ROM to take a look at.

BTW, this isnt the best way to go about this. You are going to cause alot of problems and will burn bridges.

I'm not trying to call anyone out for anything just trying to get the issue resolved and all 3 of the tuners don't want there names posted that's something that I will discuss with English. But all 3 of em said the excat same thing. That at the best case my plugs were melted and that the mivec was very irractly tuned and timming was thru the roof and ks was disabled. Please post if u have some help full knowledge to ad not just to flame and throw names around. Thanks.....!

I find it very very hard to believe they would just disable this functionality. Lucas wouldn't do something that would potentially blow up your motor. Those guys build race motors for a living.

If it's something you think is that important you need to contact them. If they don't respond, contact them again. If they don't respond again, drive back up there and visit them in person. Sometimes the only way to resolve an issue like that is in person.

Best case is not a exact answer either.... I would get new plugs and see if that helps & talk to them @ english racing. I doubt they messed up your tune, sounds like the other "tuners" just want your $

Luke wasn't the one who did the tune. And I will be continuing to contact them.

Lol new plugs come on the car has 2567 miles on it. Either way I told all 3 I wasn't gonna buy a tune but that after I got a tune I had issues could they plz look at it and tell me if it could cause these issues. And all 3 said there's no reason for the ks to be disabled. Now its been a week and I've yet to hear from them and I made a post to get responses from other tuners if disabling the ks is common. And I guess I was hoping this thread would get Englishes attention and we could get the matter resovled

Flame throw names around? What are you doing? Instead of trying to work things out with your tuner, you go on the forums and bash them? That is not very professional. You didn't even explain what your car was doing. It could be BOV flutter. What MODS do you have? What is the car exactly doing?

IMO, i would work this out with English Racing. You have to understand that they are humans and have a lot of other customers too. Then if something does happen to your motor, you only have one tuner that has ever tuned your motor.

In the mean time, pull your plugs if you are worried about them and take a look at them. Also, you have a tactrix cable, so do some logging and post them up. Make sure to log TPS, timing advance, AFR, Knock (even if it is "disabled"), boost, and the other normal items.

To me it sounds like BOV flutter. Does it happen when you hold a constant throttle position going up a hill, then slowly let off?

BTW, BOV flutter is common on 95% of all aftermarket BOVs for the evo x. What BOV do you have? You really cant tune out BOV flutter. You do some things to help it but for the most part, it is how the BOV is setup.
