Can't pull rom on X after unmarrying AP?

Ive never pulled a X rom before. Yesterday I have a customer show up at my work with his car. I asked to pull his stock rom so I can look it over and work on a base map for his new fp red he's getting soon. We unmarry the AP, I hook up my 2.0 cable and try to pull the rom. I get an error every time.

Just to verify what im doing and what I have. Tactrix 2.0 cable, Ecuflash 1.42.2595. I plugged just the box into the obd2 connector. I have the cable used on the 8s and 9s that is required to flash the ecu but I dont see this on the X so its left hanging off the side. I decide to open up my evoscan and see if I can at least start logging at idle and nothing.

Am I missing something for the X's? Definition files I might not have? Is the AP causing the issue even though its unmarried? This is the first car, both subies and evo's, that Ive been unable to pull a rom. Any help would be much appreicated!!

Well you dont need the extra plug for EvoX. So dont even bother to connect it.

Copy/paste the EcuFlash log window in here - so we can see...

I figured it wasnt used on the CAN system. I couldnt see a plug for it either.

Unfortunetally I didnt save a copy of the screen and I wont have my hands on the car for a few days. Ill try another attempt at that time and save the screen.

Did he marry up the AP again without issue?

If so, then something must have been wrong with your setup. Have you read an X before?

Yes as soon as we married the AP it fired right up no problems. I had a problem trying to pull a rom from an 2 '05 Foresters today too but as soon as I got home I worked on my evo 8 tune with no issue. That was the first X ive tried pulling a ROM from. Im thinking I need to uninstall and reinstall ecuflash.

before you do that - grab the log window and copy/paste it here...

So I finally got a chance to try to pull the rom on another X. This is the error I get. I also recently tried pulling roms off two 05 turbo Foresters and It doesnt even try to pull the rom. It just flashes error. I didnt get a copy of that screen though. Im able to pull roms from 02-03 subies and my evo 8 no problem. My boss has no issues with his laptop and we have the same versions of ecuflash and tactrix 2.0 cables.

Yep I sure am.

I would uninstall, delete the ecuflash directory, then reinstall...

After having issues with the foresters, I uninstalled and reinstalled ecuflash, but perhaps I didnt get everything deleted? Just one year ago I did a reformat to my laptop but I never tried pulling evo x roms before that.
