I have a 2008 EVO X MR. reached 31k and thought of replacing fluids. called up dealer and he says I dont need to worry about differential and transfer case and transmission oil is same. and he is charging $1000 for it. I dont understand if thats same why would manual say it differently. According to it i should change my transfer and differential oil
too confused!! Any help?

 

There are many threads with pic step by step on how to change the fluids. I don't know about MR, but for the 5spd it was pretty straightforward. I also changed rear diff and doing t-case soon. Def no worth paying $1k for simple tasks as such.

 

I have changed the t case, transaxle, and rear lsd twice. I am going to change the rear lsd torque transfer part as soon as the ATF fluid arrives. I just wanted to make sure I don't need to worry about bleeding anything. Also, what about the rest of the AYC/traction control system. How is that serviced?
