so end of the day, will changing the gaskets to the thinner 1.1mm gain me anything from the stock gasket?

If I'm not mistaken these motors have higher static compression ratios than the older Evo's. I believe that it is 9.0 to 1. So if you did use a little thicker gasket the compression may drop just a little.

Of course it would, but for what reason would you want to lower compression below 9:1?

evo's are coming already with low compression.
