Cat or no Cat

I did a search and didn't see any specific topics on going Catless or straight piped. So i wanted to get ya'lls opinions on the X's TBE..which is better? High flow cat, or straight through?

Some say that no cat gives the car a raspy sound, if anyone has a clip of their X with TBE and no cat i'd like to see how it sounds. Thanks for your opinions!

hmm so the resonator stops that noise? nice..i didn't know that.

dsmbruno, funny thing is i had a BMW before this :P I haven't even heard the "raspy" noise before, just been told this and the way it was explained made it sound not so great. Appreciate the opinions so far..keep em coming!

The question of Cat or no Cat rests with more than just sound. W/O a Cat you will be pumping out more emmisions and if stopped by an "officer of the law" you will be subject to a fine. To eliminate these possibilities, I would go with a high flow Cat. Just my 2 cents in this current Greener Planet agenda.

my carbon footprint is already huge im sure hahaha..im not really worried about the law in Dallas. The police honestly usually have most stuff to worry about then our emmissions.

When i had my zx10r if a cop saw us riding wheelies down the highway they'd pull up behind us, put their lights on, and as soon as we put em back down they'd pull back and leave us be.

Thumbs up

The rasp is also going to depend on which catback exhaust you run.

Our 3" resonated test pipe should do the trick for you. It helps eliminate rasp (if present) and is completely straight through

Yeah, the evo x guy that lives near me swears by UR exhaust..he has the TB exhaust setup..but the thing im torn in is the perrin exhaust is about the same price(bundled unlike the UR which you have to order everything piece by piece) so im stuck on deciding which one to get..
