noise during turbo spool

Hey guys i've been having a noise that sounds like rattling rocks or beads in can. The noise seems to be happing between 2500-3000, during turbo spool, and goes away as soon as 3250 rpms. Is this normal? I have never owned a turbo charged vehicle before so plz bare with me.

The noise you describe is generally the noise created by knock. As your car is completely stock, that should not be happening.

What kind of gas are you using? If you're using Diamond Shamrock or any other type of cheap gas, put in some gas from Shell and see if it still does it.

i use shell 93, im gonna try a different shell and see if the problem still happens.
wouldn't the knock be thru out the rev range tho?
oh and to clarify the noise is during turbo spool and goes away as soon as it spools up i guess

Doubtful that it is knock. What it most likely is is the heatshielding around the turbo rattling because it's loose. There was a thread about this a long time ago, and it's not very common, but it is very easy to fix. Pop your hood, and check the bolts all over the heatshielding, top and bottom, and tighten them if they are loose. Let me know if this fixes the problem.
