Question Cold Air Intake or not

does sticking the intake lower down the car make a difference in evo x?

currently i have a regular ams intake and would like to upgrade ($200) the piping to do CAI. is the money worth it?

should i upgrade the filter as well from K&N to a supposeingly higher flow filter like aem dry flow or weapon r foam filter? do they make a difference?

thanks guys

Hey there, I am actually running an AGP cold air intake. I previously had the ams short ram, and let me tell you, you can definitely feel the difference, especially in the mornings and at night, the car pulls much harder. Even when I was using it with all my stock intercooler pipes and stock tbe. it still pulled much harder then the ams intake.

So i say you wont be very disappointed if you by the cold air components for your ams.

Your idle might be kinda funky for a while, and i am using a cone filter that i had bought for my ams. My friend said i should try a dry flow filter so im not sure if thats whats giving me problems. but over all im very satisfied and my car runs great i cant wait to get a tune to compliment it.

hope that helps

i think you should be fine, unless you are going into a 3 foot puddle. If you opt to get the mesh screen, you might have a slight chance. but as for just raining, i have had no problems, i have also heard a shield that you can buy. but im not 100% on that

What do you mean by a funky idle? is it idling high even after warming up? if that is the case, a new filter wont change that.
