Evo X MR | Narrowed it down to bad Out CV Joint, repair or replace?

Car: 2008 Evo X MR SST Noise Location: Driver Front wheel
Have kind of a whine, speed related, so its louder the faster i drive. It's not RPM related, so im excluding tcase and trans.
Under slow speeds while turning, makes like a popping sound, some clunk. When coming to a stop from let's say 60km/hr, the noise gets louder as there's extra weight on the front. Have been doing a lot of reading, and it seems to be the outer cv joint. Still have to jack the car up tomorrow and try to move to wheel to exclude wheel bearing.
My question is; if it's the out cv joint. Anyway i can rebuild it or replace it? Or do i need to purchase an entire front left cv axel?
Only thing i seem to find is just a few companies to sell a race or lvl 5 cv axel for 1000$. Not interested in that.
Any help appreciated.
