o2 housing vs o2 housing

hi guys, I am about to buy a o2 housing. ok theres 2 types of o2 housing...and btw I am not talking about an external wastegate.....ALWAYS INTERNAL STOCK WASTEGATE.

so theres a o2 housing with only one big bellmouth....or theres the other one with 2 pipes..one for the turbo gaz et the other for the exhaust, they both come together a little bit later. that last one is supposed to be better because there is less turbulance near the turbo and in the exhaust. BUT

ams only as one pipe. so which one is better...why...and does it really change something???

There's really minimal differences in power output between any of the aftermarket O2 downpipes. It's mostly about personal preference if you like one company's design over another. As long as you replace the stock piece, you'll see some good gains with which ever O2 downpipe you choose.

Extremeboost O2 dump works great! If you don't mind some noise at full boost that is.

The lower price is just for the housing while the latter is for a one piece housing & downpipe. It comes out to pretty much the same price after you buy the housing and downpipe seperatly haha.

I think it really comes down to durability in the long run, if you are not a hardcore track addict, I think a cheaper one would do, if you are, then I would either get AMS or ETS...

Nope, $180 is the price for Rexpeed's full O2 downpipe. That's actually a really good price!

We build a split design. We keep the waste gate gases away from the exhaust gases to prevent any type of turbulence in the exhaust system. If you have one large opening, every time the waste gate opens and closes the exhaust gases are going to pulse and cause turbulence. We also match the turbine outlet flange with a CNC down pipe flange.

Thanks!

Michael

In general I would favor the seperated WG passage design although it's likely something around a 5 whp difference. The Rexspeed has a really good price but the only thing that looks odd is that the main pipe lines up with the WG passage outlet and not the turbo outlet. Maybe it won't make much of a difference but you would think having the 3" piping lined up with the turbo outlet would be the primary concern.

so i take it no one has the rexpeed o2 downpipe yet huh? tax return season is at our midst. im gonna go ahead and get it along with their test pipe to see what type of results i get with my current tune. afrs will be logged as well as load and boost just so that we all have some real life evidence. rexpeed hasnt failed us in the past but they are up against some really hard competition when it comes to these downpipes. ETS's sure is nice though.

I have the UR O2 DP. I love it, but if I had known the waste gate outlet on the turbo didn't match up with the DP, I would have gone with a different one. If the ETS one would have been out when I got mine, I would have went that route. But like scottspeed21 said, they all improve performance. I'm not complaining, I love the UR piece and their customer service is great!
