Evo X "ram air" intake

Has anyone seen a commercial intake that utilizes our functional hood scoop? I saw this on a rally car and it peak my interest for my next intake (3.5" min). Thanks.

I feel like "ram air" would not even need to come from the scoop in the hood.. if a company would just make a scoop from the factory air box. The stock one is close but like I have heard someone say. The evo would need to be falling off a cliff to get the "ram air" effect from the factory snorkel. With this said we just need a snorkel that extends down into that hole(s) and faces the front of the car. Gruppe M has made something similar but for over a $1,000 for an intake?? Someone needs to make this style of intake for a 1/4 of there price.

We have a turbo. We don't need ram air. The difference would be barely noticeable.

Seriously. Most of us have 3" intakes. The turbo opening is around 2". The turbo out is tiny, like 1.5". I highly doubt you need to feed more air to the turbo fins. And in my car, it is all of 1.5' from cone filter to turbo inlet. When the turbo is spooled, that 1.5' is the only place my car has vacuum.

The term "Ram Air" was just a sales gimmick back in the day. You'd have to be going like 500 mph to actually build pressure in your intake on a N/A engine.

Most people when they use this term really mean "Cold Air Intake".

AEM makes a intake utilizing the factory intake scoop. I have it and love it, make sure you tune it to utilize the extra power.

It's bigger than 3 inches when turned into a perfect circle. Which makes it more than a enough since the stock mass air flow tube is 2.5" and all the aftermarket ones are 3"

A 1 by 19 rectangle does not flow the same air as a 10 by 10 square. You have to calculate the actual cross sectional area.

Which is then mitigated by the increased intake temperatures by the compressor wheel as boost increases beyond the ideal pressure ratio (28+ psi).

The bottle neck isn't the intake side, folks.
