Post Best Evo X exhaust that's quiet on the highway

Hey guys!

I know there're a lot of exhaust threads but I've been researching and hopefully this'll be a good starting point for a guide to X (dual) exhausts.

Here's what I want (in somewhat order of importance):

1. Dual catback (unless I find a great deal on high-flow cat and downpipe - seems DP w/o O2 doesn't make too much of a diff on the Xs?)
2. 3"/max power
3. Titanium muffler/burnt tips at least
4. Minimal drone and great/unique tone esp. when WOT
5. Affordable of course

Options I've found (3" unless stated otherwise, $ incl. shipping or local CA):

1. Blitz NÜR-spec C-Ti ($1088, 80mm/3.15", ~44 lb???) - supposedly no drone, how does it sound at WOT?
2. T1R 76S ($837, 76mm/3", 39 lbs) - thin tips that get easily damaged?
3. MXP ($1086, 80mm/3.15", 44 lbs) - same design as the AMUSE $$$ystem
4. GReddy Spectrum Elite ($985, 70mm/2.75", ~36 lbs)
5. Invidia Q300 rolled Ti tips ($769)
6. Ultimate Racing 3" Ti ($975, 28 lbs?!)
7. Tanabe Medalion Concept G Blue ($1078, 70mm/2.75")
8. TurboXS (cheap somewhere! ~36 lbs?)
9. CNT Racing RS 3" ($410)
10. ERZ Performance (cheap somewhere!)
11. Megan Racing 3" dual OE-RS ($525)

Axle-backs:
1. HKS Legamax ($619+$239, 65mm/2.4", ~35 lbs?)
2. Injen 3" axle-back ($477)

Would love to hear from anyone that drives/has ridden in a car w/these systems...or anything else I missed!

These sites (1, 2, 3) were helpful in my research.

Thanks!

Edit: Adding weights!

The T1r is quiet and sounds great at wot, the megan sounds like crap at all throttle levels. Those are the two on your list that I have heard first hand in person. Another one that I have rode around in is the Magnaflow, its stainless, 3 inch cheap and sounds great its quiet under normal driving and sounds good at wot. It does not have titanium tips, but it only cost $600 shipped from map.

Starting to add weight info as well, if anyone has that on hand that'd be sweet!

I had the TurboXS and thought it was loud with a HFC. Of course, this is all subjective. Anyway, I removed it and put my HKS Legamax back on.

If I recall, the HKS muffler is approximately 2-3lbs lighter than the OEM muffler and the HKS mid-pipe was another 6-7 lbs lighter. The TurboXS muffler was 1lb lighter than the HKS muffler, but the mid-pipe was nearly 2lbs heavier.

Regarding the Magnaflow, after the cat, it's only 2.5" for a short distance, then a full 3". MAPerformance has an option for 3" right from the cat-pipe. I believe its another $60.

I don't have an exhaust yet...but I think your list should include Cobb (though it is a little pricey) and Perrin is another option as well.

I'm definitely thinking of Cobb myself

Edit: Sorry, didn't realize you wanted the burnt tips as well, which neither of these have

I have the CP-E downpipe back exhaust. It is resonated with HFC. It has very nice rumble to it. A little louder than stock normal driving, but step on it and it growls. If you are already in 5th and gas it it does drone a little but not bad at all. Just my $.02 worth. But no burnt tips.

Its stupid to pay for a catback over a grand IMO. I'm diggin the Q300. It sounds great from the clips I've heard. Cobb is coming out with a new exhaust soon but IDK how much it is going to be. You might also consider the buschur crossflow. It doesn't have colored tips but its a good and quiet choice and great price.

Have to give the Magnaflow some love. It's cheap, sounds nice, and is fairly quiet. The only quieter catback I've heard is the Cobb.

Buschur Crossflow CBE is very quiet and has good performance. No drone. You probably need to supply the Ti Tips though.
