Anyone who says you need to bleed has clearly never done this before, nor have they read the factory service manual

If you look in the manual, all the fluids are changed with a simple drain and refill procedure. There will always be air above the fill plug in these chambers. The manual is unclear in stating that the "hydraulic" systems are separated into the pressurized chambers (the pump, and lines) and the lubricating chambers (transfer case, rear diff)
