I haven't heard of any issues from the DP, just tubular manifolds I believe?

Yes, I believe it was just tubular manifolds but you can run DEI's reflect-a-gold tape on it to keep it from melting.

Correct x2

MAP o2 elim dp here on my 2010 and zero issues; I did get it ceramic coated though. I've had it since last November (~10k miles so far).

Pardon my ignorance, but what's the difference in this type of downpipe and a "traditional" one?

Standard downpipe doesn't delete the o2 housing, ours does.

Well I kind of got that -- I guess what I'm asking is what's the benefit to no O2 housing as opposed to just an extender or something to get the sensor a bit more out of the direct flow?

The downpipe alone is very short and just replaceing that gives you no gains at all. It's better to replace the downpipe/O2 with a better aftermarket one, for example, AMS's widemouth, ETS's downpipe/o2, Map's downpipe/02, which I will be buying soon .

I think that explains it!

In my Sky -- the only turbo car I've had any real work on, the downpipe and cat/02 were all one pipe. About 3' long. I assumed this to be the same.

The "o2 housing" is also called the turbo outlet elbow. O2 elim downpipes do not delete the factory catalytic converter, you will need a HFC or testpipe for that. My guess is MAP could weld their o2 elim dp and testpipe together for you making one big o2/cat elim dp.
